Kamiyama Sushi

The executive chef at the Kamiyama Sushi restaurant has been making and learning how to make sushi since he was 14 years old under many Japanese chefs called “itamea”. So it is no surprise that Kamiyama Sushi grew from the take away service it once was to a significant sushi bar and catering outfit.

Travis Kamiyami has had the privilege of working at Universal City Walk and some of the other eminent Japanese restaurants of today. Travis is dedicated to his job of feeding people fine sushi variations at the restaurant or at any of the parties and corporate events he caters for.

Some of Travis’s corporate clients include Toyota Motor Group, Japan Airlines, American Honda and the LA Dodgers to name just a few. He also has to his credit catering success for a significant number of private and social parties within the city.

Kamiyama Sushi offers a range of sushi and other Japanese delicacies with a contemporary almost whimsical twist. Travis combines the best of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine in many of his edible creations. The menu features some healthy salads for health conscious regulars.

Some of the freshest fish, roe and the perfect rice varieties are used at Kamiyami which is why people often come back for more. Travis has mastered the art of assembling sushi like few other taishos or sushi chefs. Kamiyami Sushi has now opened in Ontario, Canada.

The first Kamiyami Sushi outlet was opened in Lomita, CA a little city located near San Pedro, Palos Verdes and Torrence. Immense successes through his first venture and repeated trails have earned it the name of the best sushi take away in this part of the bay.

As a chef and co owner Travis Kamiyami makes it a point to interact with his customers and satisfy their hunger with more than one option on the menu. Maki-sushi has a new look, taste and feel at the Kamiyami Sushi. Despite being located in the small town of Lomita the Kamiyami Sushi has pioneered the art of using Soy paper instead of the traditional nori to add another dimension to makisushi.

Every roll is assembled to provide the perfect mix of taste, texture and look. The menu features some adventurous rolls such as the Krunch, Slur, Peruvian Slur, Kaboom, Waterpillar, Piranha, Goliath and Spicy Wasabi Scallop Roll. Each of these rolls is a genius in itself and combines all the tastes you might seek in a sushi roll.
